Wikis
I have recently found where wikis are being used in wikispaces.com. The wikis being used are eductional wkis where as teacehrs provide their students a wiki page for everyone to contribute, share and also edit their information.
One of the wikis that i chose as a scenario is called:
“Educational Software and Web 2.o”
This wiki is created by a teacher called Suzie Vesper. An ICT facilitator to nin different schools. This specific wiki is for the Muritai School in Wellington, New Zealand.
The wiki contains resources on different educational software that she works in and she talks about Web 2.o on how to use them and understanding it’s concpets. There are given examples on each and anyone can contribute and share their ideas of Web 2.o or any difficulties experienced. Suzie has made her wiki so that anyone on the net is able to access and be allowed for open editing. So not only members are required for the wiki. There are sections of this wiki and they are:
-ICT Pedagogy
-Offline Softwares
-Online Softwares
-Using web tips
-Media Libraries
-ICT Skills
Each of these topics represents a wiki and it contains information and subtopics which is opened for editing and for anyone who wishes to contribute more and add any additional information.
